Weigh In

Although I gained 3 pounds from sickness and vacation - working hard around the house and clearing out the sheds outside proved to burn something.  I weighed in today and lost 2 pounds, almost back down to 176 where I left off - so at 177.

My nails are getting so long that I think I'm going to have to file them down some because they are interferring with my typing and housework LOL.  This is so different for me as you can read about in my last post

I peaked at the scale after vacation and it was up 3 pounds. 

For the first time in over 2 years I actually have been able to grow nails and they are hard!  My husband was even shocked - they are normally brittle, with ridges and never can grow.  Now they are long, with white tips and even though I've had some nail biting - they still wont' break LOL.  I even had to file them, which is something I haven't done in years either.  I feel that the vitamin therapy is working since switching from pills to liquid versions and on top of that taking the pills also in easy digestable form. 

I want to lose these 30 pounds and I'm praying for strength from God to help me do this by the end of Summer.  Despite this illness, I refuse to let it bring me down.  If God wants to allow this it is for a reason - he will receive glory while I go through this and I long for healing and to be made completely whole and won't stop beseeching him and praying that this be removed.  I'm reminded of Paul of how he sought the Lord 3 times to remove the thorn in his flesh - God's reply was "my grace is sufficient" and it is for me too!

Started tracking stricter today because I was up a pound yesterday at my weigh-in.  I think it was due to the fact that I had a high sodium lunch on Monday but either way - I needed to start tracking my food more closely anyway.  I found once again that I'm not eating enough!  I was shocked to find I had only had 353 calories so far today EEK. 

I need to start planning out my meals again as well I think.  I did my best back in 2005 when I had sample meal plans with all the calories, fat, fiber, protein, etc all planned out and I would just follow the list  It wasn't much variety but then again I like the same thing on most days anyhow.

I'm having some health issues again lately, so I started to add some things back that I used to do back when I had liver disease.  I'm now taking probiotics, flax oil, psyllium husk fiber and super multivitamin's daily.  I also was able to convince hubby to dish out the extra cash to start going all organic produce!  : )  I think it will help my body heal by reducing the toxins/chemicals I put it in it.

I start my day out differently now.  I wake and the first thing I put in my mouth is 4 cups of water!  It helps cleanse me before I start eating or drinking coffee and I have noticed it gives me a boost of energy as well.

I'm going to be starting Astragalus again as well, I had such good results a few years ago when I used to take it for my immune system and it comes highly recommended from Dr. Weil, whom I trust. 

I'm changing my families way of eating as well, we are going to be centered more around fruits and vegetables and I had a talk with my 5yr old and would you believe it that she is onboard? She had mushrooms in her eggs this morning and I was suprised she didn't whine about eating them!  I mean a LOT of mushrooms - I loaded them in there.  She also tried her first leaf of lettuce and liked it, so she will start eating salads at dinner.

I haven't worked out this week - I've been very weak and low on energy but I hope to get something in today or tomorrow! ; )  I did have a call with my health coach is happy with my progress so far and hopefully the next time we talk, I will be down 20 pounds!

I can't believe it, I have been losing weight EVERY week since the end of May! 

I'm down 1 pound this week to 176.  Let's boost this up to 2 pounds loss next week! ; )

Today was my weigh in, and I'm glad to say I'm down 1 pound to 177! I have the flu but feeling slightly better today and as soon as this passes I will resume my workouts.
